How to Start a Rent to Rent Business with No Money

Alright - you've got no money.  I hear this every day from people coming to me that want to get started in Rent to Rent.

First and foremost, Rent to Rent is NOT a no money down, get rich quick scheme.  It is NOT!

It's true; you don't need as big of a deposit as if you were going to buy a property.  So that's less cash there...but not free

And you are starting a business, there are always costs involved in setting up a business, advertising, learning, etc.

You need to have money - it's a must!

But it doesn't have to be your money.

If you haven't got the funds you need to move forward in Rent to Rent, or really in any property investing strategy, you've just got to add one more step to your business; get investors.

Getting investors is all about relationship building.  And relationships aren't built overnight.  Especially not relationships involving someone giving you cold hard cash.  What would you think if someone walked up to you at a networking meeting and said; "Hi, my name is Joe.  I have a great deal.  Will you give me £5,000?"

Sounds absurd, but that is exactly what most people are doing.  I see this happening all day every day.  It happens in almost every single Facebook post regarding deals.  It happens at every networking meeting around the country.

Have you ever just given someone you've never met before money because they said they had a great deal for you? Would you just give him £500 without talking to them and seeing what they know, what the details of the deal really is?  How can you trust that they know this is a good deal?  

You need to provide value and show people what your value is.  Why should they trust you?  Why should they want to give you money?  What's in it for them?
