How to Hire a Lettings Manager for Your Rent to Rent Business

Firstly, if you are at this point, congratulations. If you need to hire someone in your Rent to Rent business it means that you are doing something right. A letting Manager was also the first person I employed when it came to my Rent to Rent business. When I started back in the day I had about 2-3 properties and I hated doing viewings with tenants. In reality I’m actually a big introvert, so those viewing excursions used to give me massive anxiety.

I also experienced a feeling of desperation every time I had to show a potential tenant a room and that kind of desperation does not translate into a deal that I can guarantee you. So whilst being super busy with new Rent to Rent deals, managing refurbishments, doing viewings, managing all my other properties etc. I realised that not only do I hate the viewings, but I’m also not particularly great at them. There are different options when you need to hire some help; you don’t have to hire a permanent employee, you could hire a Letting Agent. I didn’t go that route because I’m somewhat of a control freak. So I prefer hiring someone and have them do things the way I like them to be done. Therefor I was able to train that person myself and I had a lot more oversight. Also, unless you have an HMO Specialist Letting Agent in your area, finding tenants for the rooms in your HMO’s is going to be tricky. Average Letting Agents are used to finding tenants for an entire house.
